The 100 (pronounced The Hundred) is an American television series developed by Jason Rothenberg, broadcast on The CW since March 19, 2014, and starring Eliza Taylor. It is based on the eponymous book "The 100" (2013), the first in a series by Kass Morgan. The series was made official in the first half of 2013, with an order of 13 episodes for the first season, which premiered on March 19, 2014. The second season was released on October 22, 2014, the third season premiered on January 21, 2014. 2016, the fourth season debuted on February 1, 2017, the fifth season debuted on April 24, 2018 and the sixth season debuted on April 30, 2019.
On August 4, 2019 it was announced that the seventh season will be the last from the series. The announcement was made by broadcaster president Mark Pedowitz at a press conference by TCA (US TV Critics Association). The series takes place 97 years after a devastating nuclear war that decimated almost all life on Earth. The known survivors are the residents of twelve space stations orbiting the Earth, who already lived on this one before the end of the war.
