Wonder Woman is a 2017 American superhero movie, based on the eponymous character from DC Comics and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the fourth film in the Extended Universe DC. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins, with a screenplay by Allan Heinberg. The cast consists of Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen and Elena Anaya. The film tells the story of Princess Diana, who grows up on the island of Themyscira. After American pilot Steve Trevor crashes into the island's sea and is rescued by Diana, he talks about the First World War. She then leaves her home to try to end the conflict.
The development of a Wonder Woman movie has been underway since 1996, with the project going through several people. Jenkins signed on to direct in 2015. Filming began in late November 2015, with filming taking place in the UK, France and Italy before ending on May 19, 2016, the 123rd birthday of the character's creator, William Moulton Marston. Additional filming also took place in November 2016.
