Yu-Gi-Oh!, known in Japan as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is a Japanese anime series produced by Studio Gallop and Nihon Ad Systems, based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! written by Kazuki Takahashi. It is not connected with the 1998 anime series produced by Toei Animation, and starts from the arc "The Kingdom of Duelists". The series revolves around Yugi Muto, a boy who fights opponents in multiple games. In this version, the main game played is the Duel Monsters card game.
The series originally aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from April 2000 to September 2004, with a duration of 224 episodes. Duel Monsters became the first in an anime series, being succeeded by: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal and Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. A remastered version, highlighting certain duels, began airing in Japan in February 2015.
One of the reasons to Watch Yu-Gi-Oh! is that this anime talks a lot about the value of true friendships!
